Faculty Research Seed Grant Program (FRSG)

Under the suite of Space Grant Research Infrastructure Programs is our Faculty Research Seed Grants, which seeks to improve the research competitive position of Maine researchers for larger scale funding from NASA and other agencies by supporting projects that are aligned with NASA priority areas and the state of Maine’s strengths.  This program provides funding to support projects that promote collaborations to strengthen the research infrastructure capacity of the institution and improve the research competitive position of research faculty.

Eligible uses of seed grant funding are:

  1. Preliminary research activities
  2. Travel to NASA field centers
  3. Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Doc student support
  4. Disciplinary-specific workshops for networking between Maine researchers and NASA

Eligible applicants are faculty and researchers at MSGC Affiliate higher education and non-profit research institutions.

 

NEW THIS YEAR:  Seed Grant Funding increased to a maximum $40,000 per proposal!!

The 2019 program is now closed.  Please check back in the spring 2020 for our next competition

 

Letters of intent are due Friday, July 19, 2019.  Proposals are due on Monday, September 30, 2019
