Higher Education Program-Integration of Research in Undergraduate STEM Curriculum is CLOSED!

The goal of the Integration of Research in Undergraduate STEM Curriculum (IRUSC) Program is to support our higher education affiliates in improving their STEM curricula to help students gain the confidence, knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their STEM careers.

The IRUSC Program’s approach is modeled after the Curriculum Improvements Partnership Award for the Integration of Research in Undergraduate Curriculum (CIPAIR), albeit on a smaller scale. We encourage collaborative applications with two-year and four-year institutions, and integrate project management methodology to enhance STEM curricula and to help students gain the confidence, knowledge and skills necessary to understand conceptual frameworks, apply skills to manage projects and implement solutions to maximize efficiency.

This program is competitive and open to all affiliate members. Competitive proposals must include strategies to (a) establish or strengthen faculty relationships with NASA Centers; (b) integrate NASA-related content and research opportunities into the curriculum; (c) involve students in program development and improvement; and (d) increase student retention.
