2013 MERITS Class is graduating!
The 2013 MERITS class will be “graduating” from the program at our Celebration Day Event scheduled for Friday, August 9 at the University of Maine, Orono campus. Eleven MERITS students will present the results of their work and their experiences during the seven week internship period this summer. In addition, we are very pleased that ten past MERITS students (from 2008 to 2012) will join us for the day, to talk to the 2013 class on their accomplishments since their participation in the MERITS program! We are also very excited to welcome Dr. George Nelson, Manager of NASA’s International Space Station’s Technology Demonstration Office, who will be our keynote speaker at lunch. We would like to extend a huge Thank You to Dr. Ali Abedi at the University of Maine, College of Engineering who graciously agreed to host our event, and who was instrumental in confirming our guest speaker. Also, a huge thank you to Cody St. Louis (Electrical Engineering student at UMaine AND also a past MERITS student) who has helped us tremendously in preparing for the event!
Congratulations MERITS Class of 2013!!
